WeKids Labs LLC
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. Our Approach to Privacy
WeKids Labs LLC ("WeKids", "we", "us", or "our") operates the WeKids and WeParents websites and apps (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Privacy is core to what we build: we do not sell your or your children’s personal information, we do not show third-party advertising to children, and we do not use your children’s data to maximize their screen time.
2. Information You Provide
Parent account: your email address, your name if you provide it, and the sign-in method you choose (a passkey, or a Google or Apple sign-in token). Child profiles you create: a first name or nickname, an avatar, a birth year or age range, and the skills and content you assign. Content you create: text prompts for AI generation, generated or uploaded videos and interactive activities, and any ratings or comments. Optional: a city or region, if you choose to find nearby activities. Subscriptions: if you subscribe, our payment processor collects your payment details — we do not store full card numbers.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service we collect limited technical information needed to operate it and keep it secure — such as device and browser type, app version, IP address, and basic log and usage data (for example, which features were used and whether content loaded correctly). For a child, we collect engagement information within the Service — such as which content was viewed, time spent, and completion — used to show you, the parent, how your child is progressing.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA and GDPR-K)
WeKids is a parent-controlled service and is not directed to children for independent sign-up. Children do not create their own accounts; a child accesses the Service only through a profile created and controlled by a parent or guardian. We collect a child’s information only as directed by the parent who sets up the profile, and by creating a child profile and agreeing to this Policy, the parent provides consent to that collection and use. We use children’s information solely to provide the Service to your family — never to advertise to children, never to sell, and never to optimize a child’s engagement. A parent can review or correct a child’s profile at any time. To delete a child’s profile and all associated data, or to withdraw consent, delete a child’s profile (or close your account) yourself in the app from your account, or email support@wekids.io; in either case the data is removed within 48 hours. If we learn we have collected a child’s personal information without the required parental consent, we will delete it. For general privacy questions, contact us at rashmi@wekids.io.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to: create and secure your account; provide and operate the Service, including building each child’s daily plan and curating content; show you, the parent, insights into your child’s engagement and developmental progress (these signals inform parent guidance only and are never used to re-tune a child’s experience for engagement); recommend skills and content to you, the parent; surface nearby offline activities when you opt in; process subscriptions; communicate with you about the Service; prevent fraud and abuse; and improve and maintain the Service.
6. AI Generation and Your Content
When you use our AI features, the text prompts you submit (and, where applicable, the content you ask to refine) are sent to our AI providers — Anthropic (Claude) for interactive activities and Google (Vertex AI / Veo) for video — to generate the output you request. We do not use your content or your children’s data to train AI models, and we rely on these providers’ business terms, under which API inputs are not used to train their models. The content you generate is stored in your account.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your or your children’s personal information. We share information only with: service providers who process data on our behalf to run the Service — including Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Vertex AI / Veo) for AI generation, Google and Apple (sign-in), our email provider, and Stripe (payment processing) — each bound to protect the data; authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service; and a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you and continued protection under a policy at least as protective as this one.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, password-free authentication options, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work to protect your and your children’s information.
9. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. To delete a child profile, close your account, or remove your data, email us at support@wekids.io (subject: "Delete my WeKids account") and we will remove the associated personal information from our active systems within 48 hours — except where we must retain limited information to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. You can do this yourself in the app: closing your account from your account settings starts a 48-hour grace period — during which signing back in cancels it — after which your data is permanently removed. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You can access and correct your information and your children’s profiles at any time from your account. You can delete your data, a child profile, or your entire account yourself in the app from your account (closing your account completes within 48 hours and is reversible during that window by signing back in), or email support@wekids.io to have us action it within 48 hours. Full step-by-step instructions are on our Delete Your Account & Data page at https://weparents.wekids.io/delete-account. You can opt out of non-essential emails using the link in those emails. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as to access, delete, correct, or port your data, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or the laws of certain US states). We honor these rights as applicable and do not discriminate against you for exercising them. To make a privacy request, contact rashmi@wekids.io.
11. International Users
WeKids is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Links and Third-Party Services
The Service may link to third-party websites or offline activity providers that we do not control. This Policy does not cover their practices; please review their privacy policies. Sign-in providers (Google, Apple) and our payment processor handle the information you provide to them under their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you — such as by email or an in-app notice — and update the date above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
